Case 2. Metastatic osteosarcoma (presumed)

23 y/o male with known osteosarcoma of the ilium.

Case First Posted by John Hunter, M.D. Wed, Oct 23, 2002

Recent abdominal CT showed the lesion with presumed metastases to the epidural space, paravertebral venous plexus and IVC. A few of the group have seen this case before we created the BORG. Anyone seen similar cases? If so, do we have enough cases to do a collaborative paper?

Unfortunately, the CT scout is the only non-cross-sectional image available.

I'm a little slow on the uptake... when I first looked at the case, I did not realize there were more images to view than just the scout.

This is an incredible case, and I've never seen anything like it. It reminds me a little of renal adenocarcinoma crawling out the renal vein into the IVC and sometimes up into the right atrium.

Unfortunately, I have no similar cases to offer for a series.
